Re:Hope, Belfast, Northern IReland
Josh & Ruth Binstead
Josh lives in Belfast with his wife, Ruth and son, Reuben and dog Jackson. Josh and Ruth also have another child on the way! Josh originates from Exeter, a city in the south west of England and Ruth is from Belfast, Northern Ireland where the two of them met over 10 years ago.
The Binsteads have lived all over the UK — having spent 4 years in Glasgow as students they moved to London where Josh joined the staff of a church in the South West of the city. Following a clear call from God the family relocated from London to Belfast in June 2016 to plant Re:Hope Belfast.
Josh and Ruth are passionate about people and helping each person grow in their spiritual formation and practice. They are huge believers in the beautiful mess of the local church and how God can use it as a body to bring about the renewal of all things.
Re:Hope Belfast started gathering people from across Belfast in July 2016. We officially launched in January 2017 and God has blessed us with a wonderful team who love Jesus and are passionate about making his name known.
As a team our vision is to see a city and ultimately a nation changed for Jesus. We know that to do that it starts with us as individuals growing more in love with Jesus and being transformed by Him — therefore the vision is to grow in people a desire to be passionate about His word, to be a people of prayer, and to be worshippers in lifestyle and song.
We also have a fervent desire to be a church that helps be part of a conversation about shaping a different spiritual landscape here in Northern Ireland. Against a historical backdrop of division and religiosity we have a vision that extends beyond the walls of our church to see the body of Christ united on this island of Ireland.
Why did you join the A Jesus Church Network?
We joined the network as the opportunity to be part of a move of God across the nations is so exciting. The chance to be part of something that was bigger than ourselves, alongside churches and leaders who we respect is such a blessing and one that we are so excited to journey with.
