For Christians worldwide, Advent refers to the four weeks leading up to Christmas, where communities remember and celebrate the arrival of Jesus and join together in the hope of his ultimate return.

At A Jesus Church, we desire to be generous people who believe that radical generosity is the heart of the Father. We aspire to share His traits with all the world and actively pursue Jesus's image and attributes, including how we give of our time, selves, and material possessions.

Though we strive to live out a culture of generosity all year, the holiday season offers a unique opportunity to deepen this practice as we embody God's loving-kindness toward humanity, demonstrated through the birth of Jesus, by leaning into the lives of the people, community, and world around us with increased purpose and intention.

Celebrate Advent & Give

We invite you to join us in celebrating this Advent Season and to give by participating in three specific ways.

Toy-Drive Collection

AJC partners with local non-profit With Love year-round to help foster families change the lives of children ages 0-6 by providing resources that nurture dignity, hope, and community. Last year, we collected toys for their Season of Giving toy drive, and we are thrilled to be doing it again!

Here are some suggestions for donations to this year's Toy Drive, which we will collect at our Advent Celebration on December 6.

Infant

Teething toys, Lovies, Board/Soft books, Rattles, Infant-sized Blankets

1 - 6yrs

Legos/Duplos, Games, Dolls, Squishmallows, Art & Craft Kits

*Please consider diverse characters, puzzles, and musical or imaginative toys!

Clothing Drive

We are also collecting clothing for With Love's "Let's Hear it for the Boys" clothing drive. With Love's commitment to foster families is to provide every child with a clothing bundle that includes 7-10 days' worth of NEW or LIKE-NEW outfits.

Here are the things you can drop off at AJC during the week of Dec 9-12 and at our gatherings on Dec 15.

  • Boys clothing sizes 2T - 8 Youth
    (Most Needed)

  • Boys lightweight pajamas, jackets, and shoes

  • NEW socks and underwear
